Musical Theatre Intensive: Outcasts, Underdogs, and Misfits

Do these lyrics resonate in your soul? “On the outside, always looking in…”, “Do you feel my heart saying hi?”, “There’s a million things I haven’t done, but just you wait, just you wait!” If your favorite musicals are ones that focus on the struggles and triumphs of outcasts, underdogs, and misfits, join us for a collaborative experience where we’ll create an original musical that explores character journeys, unpacks and reimagines popular songs, and creates space to celebrate our authentic selves—in all our flaws and fabulousness.
During this one-week intensive, you will work collaboratively with SteppingStone teaching artists who specialize in directing, music, and choreography to devise an original work which incorporates songs from musical theatre. This program will collaboratively develop & assign roles, have minimal technical elements, and conclude with one performance for family and friends on the final day of class.
